    Data Processing Agreement

Information about how Ally approaches data processing for business inquiries. This page is not itself a data processing agreement or legal advice.

What is a Data Processing Agreement?

A data processing agreement (DPA) is a contract between a data controller and a data processor that describes how personal data is handled. Business customers sometimes need a DPA to align with laws such as GDPR or CCPA.

Ally today is primarily a consumer iOS app. Our standard Terms of Use and Privacy Policy govern most use of the Service. If your organization needs a formal DPA, contact us and we will see what is available.

Regardless of any DPA, Ally cannot delete or recall information that has already been transmitted into your OpenAI ChatGPT account through the optional ChatGPT connected app. Content inside ChatGPT is handled under your OpenAI plan and settings. See the Privacy Policy and Privacy Rights page for how to disconnect and how to delete ChatGPT content on OpenAI's side.

    What Our DPA Includes

    • Processing terms and scope
    • Data security measures
    • Subprocessor requirements
    • Data subject rights procedures
    • Breach notification obligations
    • Data deletion and return provisions
    • Standard Contractual Clauses (for international transfers)

    Who Needs a DPA?

You May Need a DPA If:

    • Your organization is based in the EU/EEA
    • You process data of EU residents
    • Your business requires vendor DPAs for compliance
    • You're using Ally for business or enterprise purposes

    Personal Account Users

If you're using Ally for personal use (managing your own aquarium, pool, or spa), our standard Terms of Service and Privacy Policy govern our relationship. A DPA is typically not required for personal accounts.
