Ally for ChatGPT
Ask ChatGPT about your Ally water data
Copy any of these prompts into ChatGPT after enabling the Ally app. ChatGPT will call the matching read-only tool when your question needs the data.
Example prompts
"List my aquatic spaces in Ally."
Calls
list_aquatic_spaces"Show me the current Ally snapshot for my reef tank."
Calls
get_aquatic_space_snapshot"Summarize the water-test history for my koi pond."
Calls
get_water_test_history"What upcoming Ally tasks do I have?"
Calls
get_upcoming_tasks
Naming your spaces clearly
ChatGPT picks the space using the name you gave it in Ally. If you have several spaces with similar names (for example Reef 1 and Reef 2), include the full name or the type in your prompt. If the request is ambiguous, ChatGPT will ask you to clarify or list the spaces first.
What ChatGPT cannot do here
The four tools are read-only. Even if a prompt asks ChatGPT to log a test, schedule a task, dose a chemical, or change equipment, the Ally connector cannot do it — those actions still happen in the Ally app. Treat any recommendation as decision support and confirm it against your own tests, water volume, and product labels before you act.
